Jack Brandsma

Jack Brandsma is an independent product designer and interior architect, with extensive experience in art education at Minerva Art Academy in Groningen. After several years of material research in that educational context, he began to focus more on his own professional practice again, with a focus on biobased (fibre) materials. To investigate the potential of various biocomposites, Jack examined the replaceability of conventional materials in his existing product collection. In 2025, examples of this were already on display at Object, Material District,  Milano Design Week, Dutch Design Week, Design Passage and in Museum de Fundatie.

The first production models of the biobased Major Tom lamps will be presented during this edition of Design District.
